Feature Request: Limit the quantity of an item a customer can purchase on my Square Online website

I have a very limited number inventory on an item in my online store. Is there a way to limit the number a customer can purchase in a single transaction? Example: "Limit 4 per Customer".

This is not available at this time but a great Feature that would be.

Is there a way to limit a customer to (let's say) 4 items? For something for which we are deliberately limiting stock that would be very useful.

At this time, we don't offer the option to limit the number of items sold to a customer, per purchase. For now, you would have to set expectations with your customers outside of the app.

In the online square store - Is there a way to limit the number of tickets an individual can purchase at a time to avoid someone purchasing tickets in large quantities? I'd like to be able to limit people to buying two tickets per transaction for a 50 ticket event.

While you can set a quantity for the total number of tickets available, there isn't an option to limit the number that an individual could purchase. Out of curiosity, can you share a bit more information on why a per person limitation would be helpful for your event? I'd like to get more details over to our Product Liaison team. 🙂

 

 

Thanks so much for the quick response, Tom. We are a nonprofit that hosts a variety of events that range anywhere from 10 people to 100 at a time. In an effort to give all of our members a fair shot at gaining tickets to some of our smaller, more intimate events, we try to set a purchase limit of two per person so that an individual can't swoop in and purchase the whole lot in one go. This approach has worked very well for us in the past on other ticketing sites we had used and helps us have a bit more control on our audience. Thanks!

Any update on this? We would like to limit the number of tickets per purchase as well. Thanks! 

 

We never received any further updates from square, and I haven’t seen it become an option in the interface since my original post. We’ve yet to find a way to limit tickets per person, and instead have told people we will cancel and refund their purchase if they buy more than our stated limit. Hopefully one day square will change this!

Agreed, this would be incredibly useful option. Why don't they have this yet? 

I am also interested in being able to limit the number of tickets that can purchased on one order for a 100 ticket event. Any update?
