I'm thrilled to introduce you to @chada and @Aaron_Product, whose teams focus on order management. Whether you're set up with Square Point of Sale, Square for Retail, Square for Restaurants, or Square Online, this is an opportunity for you to ask questions and share feedback on the order managerโs role in managing your business, notifying you of new or updated orders, printing order tickets, or providing settings for configuring your order-specific workflows.

Thanks so much to all of you who took the time to share your questions and feedback with us! We were impressed with the level of engagement we received and were excited to see so much interest in this topic.
We hope your questions were answeredโthe experiences you've shared will help us as we continue to enhance Squareโs Order Manager based on your feedback.
As we wrap up this event, we wanted to recap the main themes that we observed across all the feedback:
More personalization options for order management workflows and printing
Some sellers operate off of only printed tickets, while others want to be able to complete an order after it arrives with a single button press. Some sellers want to complete bulk actions with minimal screen interactions. We are kicking off new discovery next month around the most common ways sellers want to personalize their workflows so we can meet you where your business is to enable Order Manager to become a lever in your business growth plan. We will be reaching out to all sellers who raised this topic to better understand the most important ways you want to personalize your order management experience to optimize your workflows in a way that suits your specific business needs.
Editing orders after they have been paid and received
We understand that you have the ability to change the order after it appears in POS. In-store situations demand a change in the orderโSituations such as selling out an item or having a customer call and request a change. We are working on enabling this capability for our order partners (including Square Online), such that the buyer is also made aware of the change. Please keep in mind that adoption will be dependent on the order partner (i.e. Doordash will have to enable this ability as well). We hope to have that out to you in the near future.
Customizing order and fulfillment settings on your Square Online site
We are working to centralize the fulfillment settings that apply to both your Square Online orders as well as any orders that are created through 3rd party apps and to expose those settings to developers via a public API so all orders are set with the correct fulfillment details. This will ensure that the same settings are adhered to no matter which channel your orders are placed so you can standardize your operations and deliver consistent service to all your customers.
Creating orders with fulfillments at POS
Sellers want to create orders with fulfillments like Delivery or Pickup at the POS. We heard you loud and clear that this is a gap you want filled and we are exploring ways to support this capability in the future so you can offer the same great service to your customers, no matter how they order from you.

Wife and I contacted Covid 19 early October, 2021, I was hospitalized for 30 days, but survived. Taken close to nine (9) months to get my strength back enough to consider reopening our small business up once again. My question? "Since we have not used our Square account since last October, what do we need to reopen our account or take in sales as needed?" Appreciate a response, since we may start back in early September.

Thanks so much for the email because I do have questions. I'm new to this. So, I have not paid for my subscription yet because I'm not sure which one I need out of the three available plans. I'm thinking the middle, but I'm not sure. I will be selling candles to anyone on planet earth. Once I get a response for that, my next questions are:
I'm not sure about the tax. Which option do I choose? I don't want any problems with that. Ok, that's all I can think of for now but would at least very much like a response about the subscription package so that I can move forward with that first.

Any chance of an option to choose invoices youโd like to print as an entire batch? Currently, I have to go in and create a PDF of any invoice I want to print and do them individually. It would be great to be able to check a box and print as many as I want in one batch. Thanks!

Why does your platform not support batch-printing of MULTIPLE ORDERS together. When you receive 100 orders in a day because of a sale event, it is VERY inefficient to have to click on every single order individually to print them out. PLEASE add a way to batch print orders!!!

Do you have any plans to make your own hardware compatible with itself? It would be very beneficial for my business in particular if your Square Terminal was compatible with Square Register. The fact that I have had to 'downgrade' from Square Register to a Square Stand setup in order to use the Square Terminal is very frustrating.

We run a bar/restaurant and would like to be able to hold a credit card # with the order. I.e. swipe the card with the bar order, but keep the tab open. That way if they forget to close out, we can just run the tab on the credir card without having to physically HOLD someone's credit card behind the bar. Is this a feature you can please add? It would help tremendously.

We are actively working to build the ability to take pre-authorizations within the RST POS and eventually the Square POS. Please let us know if you are interested in beta testing this functionality!

I guess my big question is I would like to see us get notifications on text if we get a new order. Now Iโm very new here so there might be a way to do that and Iโm not aware of it. Iโm not too big into emails I respond more to text they get my attention faster emails come in all the time junk mail everything you can think of things get my place still out easier.
also once an order is complete and you didnโt have to ship it because man is set to ship all but I still have friends that are in town that buy from me I just recently got them a code for free shipping but before that I cannot get their name off the board.

You can enable push notifications on your device in the device settings > orders > order notifications > allow new order notifications. These include a summary of the order and an audible chime. If you had the ability to receive text alerts of new orders, how would you expect it to work if you have multiple employees that work the POS? You can complete a shipment order that was shipped or delivered through some other means so it no longer displays in your list of orders.

We are needing a way to set inventory for the day. For example if I have 20 sandwiches to sell if will give the person working the register notification that its low/or how many are remaining and wonโt allow the oversell of product. We struggle with this all the time and it is super frustrating. We have to use scratch paper to keep our upfront workers up to date with our inventory items that are for sale for the day. We have set product amount In the system but it continues to sell past what was set.

I'll be honest, I would LOVE to be able to participate more in this thread. BUT the one thing keeping us from moving beyond the Square Register is the DISCOUNT/COUPON issue! Please, let me throw more money at you, and let me be able to synch the discounts to the Online Store!

Hereโs an answer from our Prices team: This (Omni-channel discounts) is on our roadmap. Once this is implemented, Sellers can set discounts to be applied to Square Online in addition to POS. Furthermore, Sellers can choose to turn on this discount for 1) all sources, 2) Square Online-only (includes Square Online Checkout), and 3) All current sources, but not Square online.

Can you connect square order manager to the business phone line do that when we receive an order to also receive a phone call when the order is not confirmed within 2min?!

You can enable push notifications on your device in the device settings > orders > order notifications > allow new order notifications. These include a summary of the order and an audible chime. If you could enable a phone call reminder, would you expect that to work only during business hours? If you receive 10 orders at once, would you want 1 phone call or 10?
