Will I have double fees with Paypal payments?
If I upgrade to allow Paypal, will I have to pay Square fees AND Paypal fees?
I see the fees listed if someone checks out with Paypal and they look just like regular Square fees, 2.9% +.30. So, if a customer checks out with Paypal, am I also going to have to pay Paypal for the transaction?
Thanks,
Rebecca

Hey Rebecca!
Welcome back to the Seller Community @seagirlrun.
Square Online’s ecommerce platform currently integrates with a few online payment processors, primarily Square and Paypal. While Square is available on all of our paid plans, Paypal does require an upgrade. With it, you will have access to a more global customer-base, allowing a wider range of people to purchase from your Online store where their cards may not be accepted. Learn more about our checkout options.
Ultimately, I would read out to Paypal to see what they would be charging you on their end (if anything). You are correct though, on our end it would just be the 2.9% +.30 per transaction.

Paying a selling fee, generally represented as a result of credit card processing fees + a little .30 per transaction profit for Square (which I understand) seems a little weird if I will also be directed to pay the same credit card fee again if a payment goes through Paypal. Just trying to rationalize how this would make sense. Yes, I understand that I will possibly gain more business from people who prefer to use paypal, but why would Square continue to charge that fee once it heads to Paypal? You are already getting a nice fee from me every month by way of my website upgrade fee in order to use paypal in the first place. Being doubly charged is kind of not cool.

It sounds like we're still processing the payment from Paypal. It's not you using Paypal, it's your customers using their Paypal accounts to pay. Does that make sense @seagirlrun?
Sorry for any confusion.
