using phone for payments, screen goes black then to landscape making difficult to sign

I'm a mobile unit so I use my phone for payments, starting late in October 2020, whenever I swiped a card my screen would go black 30 seconds or longer, sometimes I would have to turn off my phone and turn on to get the screen to get back on,  When it does come back on it would go to landscape mode instead of portrait mode with the tip bar in the middle of signing area.

The app is up to date, I've force stopped the app and deleted the app and reinstalled, but it continued.  I finally disengaged the signature required and now it stays in portrait mode, but I really want customers to sign for their payment but I need it to stay in portrait mode, how do I fix this?

One thing I would like you to check would be the software on your device (not the app) - make sure that it is up to date too. 

 

Another option would be to uninstall the app, then download it again to help with these glitches. 

 

Please let me know if this doesn't do the trick!
