POS app notes aren't showing on digital receipts

I own a speech therapy practice with 4 therapists. We are each using the POS app on our phones to make charges to the clients we see.  Each of us in on a separate device with log-in passcode, but only I have access to the Virtual Dashboard.  On the Dashboard I can write a note such as "Addison 11/12/20 session [45 mins] " and it will show up on the receipt to Addison's parent.  But whenever we make charges from our POS apps and put in the note, it does not show up on the digital receipt.  What the clients see on the receipts just says "custom charge" and my company name.  Some clients contact us confused about which charges go for which session dates, since not all charges happen on the same day as the service.  Is there a fix for this issue?

Hello @BilingualSLP

With the POS app, the notes section for saved tickets does not print on the receipts.

The way around that is to add a note to each custom item before closing out the receipt. To do this from the phones, tap near the top of the screen to see a list of all items on the check. Tap again on the Custom Amount line. The next screen will have a notes field. Put the info about each session here and save the item. This will print on every customer's receipts.

Custom amounts are a great way to get Square working for you quickly, but I highly recommend making items specific to each therapist that they then use instead of the custom amount keypad. They can still enter specific notes about the sessions on each sale, but you can track all the therapists sales a lot easier with items versus a lump sum amount.

Ryan,

Thanks for your reply.  Two of my therapists' receipts have the words "custom amount" showing on their receipts.  On my Android, I'm trying to find what you're talking about: "To do this from the phones, tap near the top of the screen to see a list of all items on the check. Tap again on the Custom Amount line. The next screen will have a notes field. Put the info about each session here and save the item. This will print on every customer's receipts."

I swipe right to see the app's menu items. Where do I tap to see a list of all items on the check?  The possibilities include "checkout", "orders", "customers", and "items".  But on my app, I don't see anywhere to type in a custom amount.  What do I click on?
