I agree that the ability to add CPT and ICD codes to a patient’s receipt would be very useful to me and my patients as it would save a lot of time and effort for both.

I’m not sure that it is a good idea from a privacy perspective as the square invoices are simply sent as regular e-mails.

I agree privacy is an issue for turning receipts into SuperBills.  This could be fixed with an email release.  However, for these receipts to be useful to my clients as a Superbill, I would need to add CTP, ICD10, and the receipt would have to have my Tax ID, NPI, and licensing information.  This is EHR territory.  If Square creates their own EHR, I’m all for it.  Right now they only integrate with Dr Chrono.

Just thought of a possible (?) workaround. I sometimes need to bill a patient but don’t have their e-mail. You can create an invoice and e-mail it to yourself and then print and mail it. This is what I’ve done. I don’t put the patient’s name or any of their diagnosis on the bill. I only put their initials, their office ID, the date of service, the bill amount, and the reason I am billing them ( deductible, co-pay, etc). I wonder whether this would work for people. It may not be considered safe enough because it still does go as an email. The only thing is is that it’s just going to you. That said, I’m sure that square has, or could make, an easy way, simply to print out the invoice directly without going via email. I just don’t know that. It’s not as straightforward as emailing, but it is perfectly HIPAA compliant

does square offer a self scheduling service on line for clients

Would like to learn how invoices can automatically tabulate & reflect customer's outstanding balance from month to month, e.g. last month's balance, payment received, current outstanding balance, current billing amount, total current balance, etc.

I would like to understand card liability issues for FSA/HSA debit card payments. Experience shows that most HSA/FSA cards do not have a chip.

Would love to see an inventory management portion that works for medical supplies!

I would love having payment plan/financing options for larger offers or services over time.

I would love if Square were HIPPA compliant

Looking forward to this Webinar

Agree fully with need for option for making and tracking partial payments over time. I made a similar comment above. But, I can’t see how HIPAA-compliance can work with the product. They can’t keep the invoice delivery as a simple e-mail, which is convenient for us and our customers, if it is to be compliant. They would have to utilize some secure e-mail delivery system, which would make it less straightforward for out patients and us.

I try to get around this (and it may not work for others) by not using the patient’s name anywhere (I identify them by my own office ID number, for my own record keeping, and by their initials, so that they know which family member I am billing). I don’t use CPT codes or Dx codes anywhere as it doesn’t matter for my purposes. So, I do something like this:  $119 for DT for DOS 1/6/23 for deductible.

One possible option for Square, but I have no idea how easily that could implement this, might be for them to allow us to create the invoice internally on our own phones or computers and then for us to locally also password-protect the invoice pdf with a password that the patient and we have agreed to (and that is not stored in the Square system anywhere) and then for us to feed it back to square for delivery. Not straightforward but no HIPAA issues with standard e-mail if encryption is used and the password is never sent in an e-mail.

Anyway, just some thoughts.

Is there a way to have new patients fill out intake forms through square electronically before appointment?

Is there a discount on credit card charges as a healthcare provider like Stripe offers?

Would like information about a HIPAA BAA due to conducting healthcare business with Square. Would like an agreement bearing a signature from Square— a signed BAA.

Yes, I too would like this.

I’d like patients to be able to pay their balances by ACH in addition to credit cards when they click the pmt link on our website. It appears weblinks only allow one to pay by credit card. Patients need more options.

Agree with this idea.

We had the tipping option selected, as we had a massage therapist in our office. She has since left, but I had not turned that option off. There had been a few people that had tipped our Chiropractor when paying. Just curious what best practice is for tipping in the medical field, and if we should leave it on or turn it off?

I would like information about how to charge a deposit without having to pay a fee for payment and after clients have received their full service, how to allow them to pay the remaining balance and only be charged for one fee.

also, how can I add a tip to a total before receiving a cash payment or other form of payment for tracking purposes?

I would like to know what the best app integration is for charting. If there was a way we could chart the client right from the Square Appointments app, that would be ideal, but I know this feature is not available. My biggest struggle is we have to run two platforms, one for checkout and appointment scheduling (square) and a second one to document before and after pictures and charting on each client, but sadly, this program does not integrate with square. EVERY app integration we have looked at, which does work with Square, lacks major options we need, like inventory reporting.
