I would like to see a price override option.  This option will allow you to change the price of any item temporally "for this sale only" on the fly like at the POS counter on the register.  

 

IE. Customer comes to your location, selects an item they wish to buy and requests a lower price due to damage to item or other reasons...  (would need manager approval) you would touch the price of the item and change it. then a box would popup for reasons IE  Damage,late delivery, price was advertised at a lower price, price match at other stores etc... or Other "type in reason."

 

I dont think this is much to ask and would benefit everyone using the system

Custom client profiles. Where we can put in notes about the client that shows up when we click their name and not just in a certain appointment.

I would like the ability to change/reassign who a sale is attributed to after the sale has been processed.

 

I'd like the ability to apply different commission rates for different items or categories of items. In essence, the ability to give services a higher commission percentage than item sales.

1. I would like to see variation level modifiers or nested modifiers for scripted ordering experience for customers and cashiers alike online and in person.

 

2.  Ability to do a little more with business management, checklists, costing, real time reporting.

Combining tickets. As salons we often have families coming in together at the same time for services. Currently, the way it is set up you either have to have your client do a separate transaction for each person in the family or make it look like one person had multiple haircuts. In all other pos programs out there you are able to combine the tickets together for one transaction. This allows you to accurately see who has been in, how many times, and how many clients you really had for the day, These are important for anyone wanting to run a business successfully. This should be a priority on fixing with square. It is honestly my only complaint.

I agreed with those that suggest that Square make available all features to all levels! Otherwise, you are exposing yourselves to having captured audiences at various levels, to go out and find other providers, etc.

 

I for one would love to see at the very least a suitable accounting software that offers, strong accounting features without being overwhelming, such as perhaps QBooks! Otherwise, again, I will be in the market away from what perhaps Square could have offered and or given me in the first place! LuisV

Yesssssssssssssssss!!!! 1000x agree. I should be able to say, this cake is available on a single day or multiple days. Within that, I should be able to either set stock level or example 50 available to purchase or endless amount. I also shouldnโ€™t have to create a second store to then add those items so I can use the โ€œdonโ€™t set date or time featureโ€ to then make it confusing for customers to know what store to select even though itโ€™s all from the same store. Then I have to manually go into each order and select time and date, itโ€™s the biggest waste of time. Itโ€™s also confusing because if you allow automatic printing of receipt order tickets, it will print ticket but then youโ€™d have to go back in and reprint with updated date and time. Again another time waste and material waste.

Something I feel should be standard is the ability to take a deposit when a client books a service instead of me having to create an invoice to ask for the deposit. Instead I have to set the price of service to half of the cost (which to some folks could be confusing) in order to collect money at the time of booking. Before I did this Square would allow bookings to block time slots on my calendar for people that haven't paid a deposit yet and a good number of these people end up not paying the deposit after you take the time to invoice them. Therefore wasting my time as well as preventing others from booking that time slot. I for the life of me can't understand why Square doesn't have this function.

Please integrate shipping into the register. I have a lot of custom phone orders, and in-person orders that people want to ship. Right now I am left manually dealing with everything. If my online shop seamlessly integrates into Shippo, there is no reason my register shouldn't.

This is SO SO simple- but can we please get the ability to add photos to our CATEGORY buttons on the register? We can have them for items, why not categories? This has literally been requested on a thread since 2016. The ipad registers can easily do it... Seems like an easy fix, even if it has to be done from our desktop.

I would love to see a cost of goods option in items and a report for gross profit.  Right now we have to download a very large file to excel and make sure our profit margin is correct.  With the prices rising everyday it would be nice when stock is received and new costs are entered we can see our margin on Square.

This is a must-have, how can you operate your business without instantly seeing your margin? The harder it is to find your margin the greater the chance that you are pricing your items too low to make money.

We are a retail and parts store and all of our warehoused parts are organized in individual bins. Right now the method of finding the part, is to type the description or part number on the Square POS and scroll down to the bin number we list in the notes area. It would be nice to have the option to list a inventory bin location somewhere other than the notes section. A example of how we locate the bins would be 1B20 or 2A36. The first number is the section, the letter is the row and the last numbers are the column.

When ringing up product we use to be able to select the item and then under notes, we would scan the products serial number and save it in the system. We would do this mostly for product warranty information. Now when we open up notes and scan the serial numbers barcode nothing happens. As in it scans the item but the numbers don't show up on the screen. Please make it so we can scan barcodes under notes again.

To be able to checkout straight from Appointments on a desktop using the handheld terminal. It's annoying to have to re-enter all services and client's names into the virtual terminal.
