Hey Seller Community! Happy Wednesday โšก๏ธ

This week we're wondering...

Do you play music at your business? ๐ŸŽถ

If so, what kind? Do you use Apple Music or Spotify? Something else? What device do you play it off of?

Can't wait to learn from you all ๐Ÿง

We have an Amazon Echo and have our own private Pandora Station (various techno) - it's funny cause every once in a while we see customers dancing.

This very much depends on my mood. As a Blacksmith, i typically wear headphones, so whatever I am in the mood to listen to. Bad day = heavy metal. Normal day = plenty of rock, maybe some outlaw country. If I need to get some work done and in a hurry, then rock is my go to. I use Pandora mostly. If I feel like a podcast, then I use Spotify.

We have a popup event every month at the small antique village my shop is at, so typically I put on my radio with bluetooth connection to my phone and play some celtic inspired music, but again, it very much depends on my mood.

We do not. The nature of delicatessens is to sit and visit, either with your group or with others visiting across the tables. It is not uncommon in a Jewish deli for people to strike up conversations with complete strangers. Music would not allow for such types of social engagements.

@isabelle  Yes I play music, Apple Music over my Bose mini mainly โ€œ Alixrainbird playlists. Many to choose from. I also listen to a lot of podcasts when not with someone on my apple air pod pros(best invention ever) if you donโ€™t like talking to people or just want them to think you are not able to talk.

Like some others mention, you can get fined if playing music for "public performance". I've never been really clear on that... We have our speakers in the kitchen (with one pointing to FOH) so that our customers can hear it, but we're playing it for *us*, you know?

Staff choose what to listen to every day, but customers love throwbacks, boy bands, old country, and even Disney works out a few times.

Spaces without music always feel like something's missing for me. Doesn't have to be a party, but if I can hear my heart beating in my ears because of social anxiety then it's TOO quiet lol

I play Music with ๏ฃฟmusic.  I have a separate account for the store so that I can have non explicit versions of songs.  I make my own playlist for the store and add to it weekly.  Then just shuffle!

Yes! We got a free Amazon Echo device a few years ago that we never needed at home. However, we set up Alexa behind a picture frame in the store and hooked her up to the wifi. Since then, any time I want to play something, I just let her know. I've synced her with my Sirius XM subscription for basically commercial-free music. 40s Junction is my jam - very soothing. Symphony Hall is also very relaxing ambience. In the afternoons, we switch it up to some indie stations on Pandora, and my husband loves to crank the hair bands later in the day. It's a lot of fun. Plus, if you have a favorite playlist, you can also just stream from your phone directly to the device - no wifi needed.

I use Amazon Music as my store. I'm able to create my own playlists, which I find helpful. It eliminates the surprises that can pop up with pre-made playlists.

I love the sound of white noise as I am making my beads. I donโ€™t personally have a physical store yet but to set the mood I love a great setting, candles going and good positive energy. It helps bring out my best creations.

I do play music! All sorts of music!

Iโ€™m a professional driver who owns a company with a wide range of customers. From kids going to school to the businessman leaving for the monthly meeting at headquarters. We play music from SiriusXM Radio, YouTube Music, Spotify, Pandora, and the local radio. Myself and various drivers also listen to Audible and other podcasts as well. With having such a wide range of clients, we use all sorts of apps depending on the specific personality of the customer, occasion and time of day. We use both vehicle and our cell phones to play.

Music is a factor when I create environment for a specific experience. Coming home from a long week of work? More calming and relaxing environment. Kids going to school in the morning? The latest top 40 is a good go to.
