The City of Austin has put together an extensive list of cold weather emergency resources to help residents and business owners recover from the recent winter storm.

• Emergency Repairs (e.g. how to find a plumber, electrician or other contractor, how to find  assistance in clearing homes and removing debris)

State of Texas Plumbing Regulations Waivers

Governor Abbott issued several waivers regarding plumbing regulations:

• Plumber's Apprentices - Waiver of certain regulations for certain registered and qualified Plumber's Apprentices. 
• Expired Licenses - Waiving of certain fees and examination requirements for plumbers currently holding an expired license.
• Out of State Plumbers - The Texas Board of Plumbing Examiners is already able to give provisional licenses to out-of-state plumbers to increase the response to burst pipes and flooding.

Austin Legacy Business Relief Grant

Eligible legacy businesses must have been in operation in a City of Austin Council District for at least 20 years; must meet the City’s definition of a legacy business; and must have significantly reduced operations since March 2020.
