What is the best way to get your website found?

Hi everyone. I am new to the group. My name is Trina, or Nana by my customers. I am a veteran sewist of human garments (47 yrs)  and for the last two years, I have been sewing for dogs. I had no idea the dog fashion community was so big until I got on IG. I guess during the pandemic young ladies decided to buy sewing machines and go wild with bandanas, lol. Anyway, I'm not judging, but I know my experience outweighs their age, but I notice people don't care about that, they only care about who is "trending" or that "brand is the best" because they have so many followers. How do you go about landing people on your social and website?
Do you guys have this problem as well?

To get people to follow your page, comment on the pages of the audience you want. I also find asking questions is great for engagement once you have an audience

Hello NanTrina,

Just a few thoughts:

Landing people on your social media and website involves a combination of methods. Just having a website is the first step moving forward. One has to determine - what makes my items/products stand out from all the others. For example, pet bandanas - what makes your pet bandanas stand out from the others? Just search Etsy and Ebay - there are thousands !! So how can you stand out - if I had a definitive answer, I would be rich.

* A good mix of media, such as images, videos, and info graphics.  High quality detailed photos and displayed from different angles works well.  Consider videos - for example show how you make your items. Take advantage of any Social Media Site that allows videos.

* Stay focused on your target audience - there's email and text marketing but, don't just SPAM people - send messages with specific details, offer discounts and/or coupons and/or free shipping.

* Have clear policies for returns or if you accept custom orders.  If doing custom work, always get a signed agreement or contract between you and your customer, else you may end up with something you can't sell to anyone else. (That's from experience !!)

* Try collaborating with other businesses or influencers. Share links, comments, etc.

* Encourage user-generated content and testimonials to showcase positive experiences.

* Analytics tools like Google Webmaster and Bing Webmaster can be quite helpful - both provide tons of info like what people are searching for and what your traffic looks like.

* Think outside the box - try local events and markets - this gives you exposure to a whole new world of customers.

I do almost all of that. I haven't collaborated with anyone yet, but everything else is checked off. I do tons of local events and markets, I just think I need better ones with better demographics. 😐
